This is an article strictly about KPOP. I recently got into it because of the numerous subbed videos of variety shows on youtube. My only experience before this has been Super Juinor, because they had appeared on a music show with Arashi and I though wow how can there be so many members in a group (this was during "Sorry, Sorry". To be honest I like JPOP better the songs are happier I think the guys look cute (not anyone I would date, but I think if you like cute, JPOP is for you).
Things I noticed (list is not in a particular order:
1) Korea has to many music shows, why do you need more than 3. What is the point if the same group is performing in all of them. I do not know for sure but there are 4-5 of them?
2) Korean girl groups I think are either cute or sexy or both. I do not see much talent, also I feel like alot of girl groups have one main girl and the rest of the girls are there as back up dancers.
3) To many members in a group. More is not better in this case. I understand they have a number of trainees that they want to debut. I think first of all if you have talent you can get away with not looking as good, or if you look hot you can get away with it. I think 1-2 members in there for looks is enough. Block B has to many members, they should have debuted as 3 members. Boyfriend, lol this group they all look the same and sound the same (this is after watching and listening to all of their MV's/main songs) so 2-4 members or maybe just the one guy. 4minute and 2NE1 I wonder why they didn't just have the main girl debut as solo. ZE:A, well enough said rich boy, actor boy, and the comedian should all be taken out. Rainbow well to be honest I hate all their songs, no one stands out as bad or good, guess that's why they are in a group. EXO, 2PM, 100%, MBLAQ, BEAST, INFINITE (while I love them I think there are some extras in there) SUJU, there are members that could be cut that don't do anything in a singing group, they might as well have debuted in their own fields. U-kiss's best song was actually U-beat featuring Kevin hahahaha (so maybe to many members lols dunno).
4) In every show I see with Big Bang it is always and I mean ALWAYS mentioned that G-Dragon composes the songs. I personally like the songs that G-Dragon has done solo, I am not that crazy about Big Bang's songs. I am not sure why this is an item, I guess it's because other groups have composed their own songs, but it seems Big Bang definetly gets more recognition for it.
5)The senior and junior relationship is so over the top, I felt I was prepared after liking jpop but I was not.
6) I do not understand why people in KPOP wants to be popular in America.
7) I really hate a lot of KPOP songs. I am not sure why, they have some catchy ones, and some good ones, but I think generally the market over there is flooded with crap. A lot of songs sound similar to other songs.
8) Some group members you can tell they have had a little to much plastic surgery and I mean this is the nicest way possible.
9) For me seeing pop groups in variety shows is a must, to be honest I think a lot of groups are extremely boring and are not necessarily "Idols" in my sense of the word. To me an idol should be able to sing, dance, act, be interesting in variety, and model. They don't have to be the best of course but they should be a bit above average.

Anime
Anime season: Winter
Coming to a Close
There was not much out for anime this season. The only ones that really jumped out were The Unlimited as a new anime. I have been watching Hakkeden, but not relegiously.
The Unlimited
GREAT! This anime is awesome. If you like good looking characters with awesome powers, that there is nothing that you could not like about this anime. The Lelouch like moves were a killer and I laughed every time he pulled him off. The anime starts off with Kyouske being "taken" into a place where they keep espers jailed. He meets a weak esper whose power seems negating other espers powers. This was by far the best out of the new ones this season.
Hakkeden
Even though I love the manga author, I have not read the manga at all. I love seeing her art however animated, which is probably the only reason why I am watching it. The anime is a bit slow for me, but not in a sweet way like Natsume Yuginchou. It is just slow, maybe because of the build up I am not sure.
Animes still watching include; Hunterx Hunter, One Piece, Psycho Pass, Magi, and Chihaya. Psycho-pass has really turned into a good anime. I love the plot it reminds me of older animes like Darker than Black and Phantom. No terrible fan service. No stupid fillers, just plot running without taking a breath. I think Magi has died down for me. I do not know why other than the fact that, I have read the manga and do not really care for the anime now, that I have read the mange. Chihaya is good, I cry a little inside everytime the guy gets his heartbroken for her. The two new characters are okay but nothing that adds to the plot much right now at least. HunterxHunter well what can I say HISOKA is quite awesome. One Piece is just One Piece, nothing great, I did not really like the Punk Hazard chapters, so I am sure I will not enjoy these episodes much either. I was actually really happy when the arc was done in the manga.
Oh Amnesia is interesting, but still kind of stupid. I am not even sure what this show is about other than looking at pretty looking guys. The green guy is my favorite btw, and probably who I would have picked had I been playing the game.

Student Nurse
So, I am in my third semester. I have had 3 clinical in 3 different sites. I am not going on to Med-Surg. I have to say I am excited. I like Med-Surg the most.
I had Mental Health clinical first. I was at first very weary because I was scared on how I would deal with a patient if they became combative or aggressive. It turned out to be fine. Mental health was a different type of nursing entirely. It is so much different the Med-Surg I feel like it is almost incomparable even though the mind and body are connected. I really liked the nurses on the unit and the mental health workers. They all seemed really knowledgeable and were willing to have students help.
Here are the main differences.
1. Even if the nurses have numerous patients, they do not seem harried or rushed at all. In fact they all seemed to have time to answer questions that you had about patients.
2. It felt a little like counseling. As a student nurse I did not feel qualified to counsel people. Even though you learn all these things about therapeutic communication and how to asses for things, in reality the actual goals and assessments are slow paced since it is all based on communication with the patient. The goals are small and should be achievable. Even if it is as small as getting out of bed and eating breakfast.
3. I really enjoyed patient interaction, since the patients do not need practical nursing care, it is easy to spend time with patients that just need someone to talk to.
I really do not like pediatirics or OB. I feel like both areas are not areas that I want to go into. I do feel that both experiences though have made me overcome obstacles that I had in first semester. In pediatrics since parents are usually there, it helped me gain confidence in talking to families and explaining things I was doing for the benefit of the family. For OB I think it is really a useful clinical whether you have OB or not, the majority of it was postpartum teaching. It really helped me hone my patient teaching skills. My nurses for OB were all really helpful and nice. They have smaller patient loads and so seem more willing to have students, or that is what it seemed to me. Even if the patient teaching you are doing will not be the same, I think the skills you gain from teaching in OB is really good. Both of the places I the teaching was layed out and very succinct. You could review material beforehand and than go teach it to the patient, pointing out specific points, etc. Which you can later implement the same teaching methods later. As well as the confidence. Since teaching is about their new baby patients are extremely eager to learn and have questions which is nice.
I loved my previous Med-Surg clinical because I really see myself working with adult-older people. So I am excited about these clinicals! I think that getting assigned a patient and being responsible for the patient is really nice. Even though you have a co-assign in facilties with geriatrics, you really do not see them. Alot of care if ADL's which is usually not supervised.
